Task Analysis
Analysis and description of the physical & general work demands required of
a single job task.
Job Analysis:physical and psychological
Analysis of physical & general work demands of a job role comprised by
several tasks. Psychological job analysis considers work factors such as demands on cognition,
energy levels, decision making, emotional levels, and mental processes. Job or Task Analysis may be
used by management for recruitment, job description development, injury management, communication and
liaison with health care practitioners, or development of baseline measures for functional capacity evaluation.
Job Capacity Checklist
A description and summary of salient physical work features of a job role.
It may be used by a medical or health care practitioner to provide consultation and make an informed decision
about determining fit-for-work status.
Manual Task Risk Assessment
Analysis of the physical work conditions and demands required of a job role
or critical task; risk calculation and identification; contrasting findings of actual and best practice, review
of Australian standards or relevant research findings; and recommendations to address identified risks.
This document is used for in-depth analysis and critical decision making by management..
Manual Task Training
Training services for front-line staff to build knowledge and skills in
basic anatomy and physiology and sound manual task (handling) technique to encourage a safe approach in their
work. Specific task problem solving is encouraged with highly interactive engagement from all
participants. Competency assessment can be included. Training can be customized for senior management, also,
with instruction in risk assessment strategies, regulatory standards, and sound administrative practice to
assure competency levels for manual task approach are upheld throughout the organization.
Office Ergonomics
A wellness based, risk-management assessment and/or training service designed
to help workers optimize their comfort, safety and productivity. It is catered to persons working with access
to a computer workstation environment. Participants will learn to identify the ergonomic risks inherent in their
work environment. They will learn control strategies - engineering, behavioural, and administrative - to reduce
risk for injury and assure an optimal individual workstation set-up. Recommendations for appropriate equipment
can be made. This service includes consultation to architect and design firms managing office fit-outs.
Workplace Evaluation
A determination of worker capacity to perform substantive and/or alternate
job duties with systematic review occurring at the workplace. This service may include job analysis, review
of medical reports and restrictions, interview of worker and management, individual physical capacity
assessment, advice on aids or assistance to optimize work performance, and liaison and assistance to management
and workers to help them understand medical conditions, work restrictions, and safe work methods. Funding may
be authorized by WorkCover, a third-party insurer, or the employer may sponsor this service for early intervention
or return to work especially when an injury may have occurred for their worker outside the workplace. The
Workplace Evaluation can be used for determination of Vocational Needs Assessment – devising an at-work strategy
to help optimize performance of a worker.
Development of Suitable Duties
Documentation of identified suitable duties that may aid a worker in
their rehabilitation for return-to-work following a reported condition, illness, or injury. Suitable Duties may
be devised as part of an early intervention program, also, as a risk management service to prevent deterioration
of a reported condition - aches, pains or niggles.

Fit-4-Work Assessment
To assess individual worker capacity; musculoskeletal strength, range,
endurance and tolerance to task; and/or general anthropometrics (body measurements) to determine or predict
“fitness for work” with regard to available tools, equipment, & environmental conditions of the job. This
service is designed to aid in recruitment and placement or in return-to-work assessment.
