Context
The Green Star initiatives foster sustainable building practices and are designed to support the health of the occupants. Businesses wishing to demonstrate their compliance with leading ergonomics practices in office fit-outs and design can apply for a Green Star Interiors Ergonomics Credit.
Challenge
An energy sector supplier wished to achieve their Green Star Ergonomics Credit for their office fit-out. The credit requires verification by a Certified Professional Ergonomist.
Approach
The ViVA human factors and ergonomics team provided the strategic advice, guidance, program review, and evaluation of office furnishings procurement.
Outcomes
ViVA conducted the design review on the degree of worker consultation and selection of work settings, equipment, and furniture, and ergonomics programming, including training, verifying the organisation’s fulfilment of the Green Star Ergonomics Credit criteria. Through the process, ViVA also conferred with the Green Building Council of Australia, advising their representatives of their opportunity to frame criteria around an organisation’s work-from-anywhere distributed work practices.
