Context
Managing the relocation of federal workers to new fit-out offices in multiple locations involves considerations that impact on logistics, legalities, and employee health and wellbeing.
Challenge
A federal government organisation required assistance with pre- and post-occupancy advice, fit-out education, and support to workers across several national offices. This included assessments of workers previously prescribed specialised equipment to ensure their accommodation during the transition to new premises.
Approach
ViVA partnered with project management and interior design teams to provide specialised ergonomics advisory services, specifications on new furniture and work station devices, and training for employees using new workstations. ViVA also created video-based educational material to support workers in their interactions with new office furnishings and devices. Additionally, ViVA advised project management teams on specifications for chair selection and locker space design. ViVA’s employee services included one-on-one assessments, facilitating focus group trials of new equipment, and provision of educational workshops.
Outcomes
ViVA supported hundreds of federal employee workers across Australia in multiple worksites with their office fit-out transition, providing necessary education on workstation interactions and equipment needs to support their health an dwellbeing. The employee feedback was positive. The organisation incoporated ViVA’s bespoke video educational material into their organisation’s learning management system, providing ongoing support to workers.
